i was picked on relentlessly as a kid and was way too shy to ever stick up for myself. i can remeber times in my life later when i saw others get picked on and i did nothing. i can remember every single time. i had to learn how to take care of myself before i could start to stand up for others. i do it all the time now and am labeled a bitch for it. its the price you pay. but im happier. if i had to do it all again, i realize that i really had nothing to lose by standing up for myself then. i wouldnt have resorted to violence but i would have protected myself no matter what else that took.
