I agree with Monique. However, one thing that is never mentioned is the fact that it describes in the Bible in great detail how the earth is full of sin. Sin comes from Satan, and if you really want to get to the heart of being gay, it is due to Satan’s influence in our lives. Everyone sins, and all sins are equal (in Lutheran religion; others differ). Just as some are tempted by Satan to use the Lord’s name in vain, and others to murder, etc., some people are tempted to be gay (even though it is a lifestyle in which you are ridiculed, and it is not viewed positively by society, all this again the work of the devil). People may choose to be gay to an extent; however, the main cause is the environment in which we are raised where the devil is actively pursuing us and trying to get us to commit as many evil acts as possible. ‘Being’ gay is simply another one of those acts. However, it is NOT EASY to stop being gay, which is why people saying ‘Just stop being gay’ are clueless, just as people telling smokers to stop smoking who have never smoked themselves have no clue what it is like. The devil does have a firm grip on many of the things people do, and we always try to justify our actions. It is perfectly natural for a gay person to say that ‘God loves gays’ as well as ‘being gay isn’t wrong’ in order to justify what the devil is making them do. It is true that God loves all people, and wants us to have Him in our lives, however it is going to the extreme to say ‘God loves gays.’ You may well say that God loves murderers or God loves the wicked. This is not true, God loves the person, not the sinful acts they commit. I myself am struggling with sexual orientation, but I know what is causing it, and I hope that eventually I can deal with it, and change from this lifestyle. Basically all I can do for now is try to control my actions and pray for forgiveness every day for these evil thoughts being placed in my head by someone who doesn’t care for me or anyone else.
