I’m not Christian but most of my family is. Having an impartial point-of-view, I can tell you Christianity – if not now – originally upheld the ideal that women were indeed inferior to men. Christian morals and the interpretations of the verses from which they are derived have evolved over the years to keep consistent with naturally evolving culture. Allow me to cite a scripture(King James Version):

([Ephesians 5:22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.)
([Eph. 5:23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.)
([Eph. 5:24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.)

No matter how you want to twist meaning, it says there that women should submit to their husbands just as all Christians submit to the will of God. Not only that, but verse 24 restates that they should submit to them in EVERY THING, in EVERY WAY, just as Christians with God.
