It is exactly for that reason that I posed the question. The white male has been in a position of power in the United States for so long that he now attains a sort of self-designated victim status as soon as others begin to question why things are the way they are and begin to demand their due. You can’t deny that the power lies in the hands of white men through ill means. Manifest Destiny/genocide of the American Indian, slavery of the African American, concentration camps for Japanese Americans, repatriation of Mexican American citizens in the Depression, not to mention television, movies, the arts and the ownership of every large corporation that dictates taste, trend and public opinion. Why is it that the white imitators of black Jazz musicians live much longer and have exponentially more prosperous careers? Because white men own and control nearly every aspect of American life. Not all white men, but white men nonetheless.
