Can’t we all just get along? This group doesn’t like that group, whatever…. In the USA we live (and die) by laws. The laws are for equal opportunity, not equal results. Sad thing is when lawmakers try to ‘fix’ the inequality that exists, they end up making it worse. I’ve worked with and for many blacks and this is my observation. Skin color have NOTHING to do with being accepted, hired, fired, etc. A strong work ethic, morals, attitude, etc. mean everything. I’ve been with several blacks (and other non-whites) that came to this country and actually worked and made something of themselves and provided opportunies for their family. Example case came here with absolutely nothing except the closthes on his back, went to a church for help and was ‘adopted’ by a family. They only helped him get on his feet for approx. 6 mos. 10 years later he’s working in a rather well paying job and has just put both of his daughters through med school. Point being, opportunity is everywhere, and if it’s not, make it. To all the blacks in paticular out there, go to Africa and ask anyone if they consider you black or American. Ask them if they consider you lucky to be born here or oppressed. Yes, there’s inequality in our social system, but it’s a speedbump. Get an education, involve yourself in the community, run for political office, make a difference.
