I remember doing that when I was young — not a teen, but a preteen, like 11. I’d hope by the time someone is old enough to drive, they wouldn’t do that… Anyway, there were a couple of reasons. One, theres the general disdain for any sort of ‘authority’ thats just part of being a teen, and doing dumb stuff like that made me feel more powerful as I was just getting to the age where I realized if I didn’t do what I was told, the world wouldn’t come crashing down.
