Sad to say, I’m beginning to agree with Charlotte. I also agree with everyone else who has commented to the effect that a really good teacher is the most wonderful thing there is. The trouble is, it’s a vicious circle. The more teachers are underpaid, underappreciated and overwhelmed with problem students, the fewer good people are attracted to the profession. That’s why we now get ‘control freaks’ who overreact, are insensitive to the students and show ‘zero tolerance’ for anyone who questions their point of view or perception of the facts.
