Thanks, Beth. I am one of those smart mothers with a teenage boy who wears a shirt when he swims. In Australia we have the highest incidence of skin cancer compared with anywhere else in the world, and I do not want him getting cancers when he is older. Our family has grown up with the tradition of covering up when in the sun. It is refreshing to see, however, that when his friends come over for a swim in our pool, they all wear their t-shirts (I hope they do all the time). My son and his friends are not vertically challenged (overweight), nor do they have problems with their self-esteem (if they do, they certainly don’t show it).
