Religion is seen by some as anything to do with God, Jesus and spiritual life. If I understand you, you are saying that man has added many rules, beliefs and guidelines to what Scripture says. Woe to those who add to God's Word. Don't wish for one man to guide all. One is coming soon who will appeal to all because of his charisma, but he is not of God. Those who don't follow Christ will follow him.
