People with the Valley Girl dialect are gainfully employed. How do you explain the dogmatism outside of work where most of the judgment lies? A couple of years ago, Obama was heavily criticized for code-switching into “nah, we straight” with another black American. Bush was elected and re-elected in spite of consistently horrible grammar. I guess majority rules only apply to the non-majority.
