As someone else posted , I think you should know the difference btewwen the Asian studetns who just arrived and the Asian-americans who were born here. There is a difference in the way people are raised itn their home country and here as well as the school systems. Throughout school most of my teacher had one look at me and thought I would be the whiz kid. Alas,I proved a big dissapointment when I failed to acheive straigh A's. don't get me wrong, I was a good student but I was not he highest achiever in shcool at all. I felt this enormous pressure because I was expected to fit that sterotype.

I received this same question in a different form. I am Filipina-German and my fiance is part-black. I had black women saying that I was "stealing their man." That's called jealousy. Maybe instead of someone saying a 'certain race' stole their men, they should simply do what I did: if there is someone you like, ask them out on a date. Don't yell and curse and complain that someone took your man. If you just sit on the couch all day complaining about why your men aren't with you, it's because you did not take the initiative. Trust me on this. Asian women (or any other women, for that matter) are not stealing black men. If truth be told, most Asian women will not date black men.

Compared to other minority groups and even among whites, Asian Americans are the largest group that is marrying outside their race. Yes, you may see more black/white couples, but that's because there are more blacks and whites. The Asian population is much smaller. When you look at the figures of Asian interracial dating and compare them to the Asian-American population, you may discover that the Asian community does have a higher percentage of outmarriage. I am the result of an interracial marriage (Asian/Caucasian). I am now in an interracial relationship with a man of mixed black and Caucasian ancestry. So much for keeping to ourselves.
