First of all the moors were not black and neither was hannibal or cleopatra. Many people in America believe these things, because many Americans don't know enough about history, even their own. A common belief that the White Supremacists have is that the Romans were white skinned with blond hair and blue eyes until the moors came invaded and changed that. The Romans were not blond-haired and blue-eyed they had darker features and olive skin, there were also those with blond hair and blue eyes who were of Germanic decent and Eastern deecent when Rome became known as The Holy Roman Empire. For many years Romans of German heritage rule Rome during this period. Rome had vast control over various countries extending to the Middle East as well. Hannibal was from Carthage, he was of Mediterranean Middle Eastern heritage and not Black. The Moors were people of Middle Eastern, more commonly Arab decent who had darker features ranging from dark olive complexions to brown. It seems that many Blacks and Whites in America seem to be misinformed on this issue. Having dark skin doesn't mean Black, if that was the case then everyone who's not lily white would be considered black and they are not in America. In England, however a few years ago anyone who was not lily white or looked darker was considered black no matter if he was spanish, italian and so on. In some cases it still remains so for some people of the older generations. Another myth is that Egyptians were Black. Egyptians were and are Middle Eastern and not Black. just because Egypt is in Africa doesn't mean they were ethnically black, just like whites in south africa. Egyptians immigrated to Africa and formed their own country. Cleopatra was Greek and not Egyptian and far from being black.
