Why does God have to be any specific color? For all I care, The Universal Creator can be purple, or any other color I am in the mood for. I am a Neo-Pagan, and therefore my "God" takes on many forms: Male/Female; Wind/Water/Earth/Air; Animate/Inanimate. Mostly I find that the Higher Power I pray to looks like all people. After all, weren't we created in "His" image?

I think the Christian church usurped what they thought would keep the locals happy, while denouncing those that seemed to go against the dogma of their religion. I am terribly offended by this. I too am a practicing witch, and am often condemned for my practices, though since moving into the "Bible Belt" I have had a tendency to be very private about my beliefs. I feel that if I don't, it might just be the "Burning Times" all over again.

The initials BC and AD meant "Before Christ" and "Ado Dommini" literally translated, "The Year of Our Lord." In recent times, with each religion demanding equal time, they have been changed to be politically correct, with BCE meaning "Before Common Era" and CE meaning "Common Era." These seem to be acceptable and non-offensive to most faiths.

I too, as a practicing witch, have come across masses of the uneducated (my husband included). I believe it is the fault of the early Christian Church. It wanted to convert all Pagans, so it essentially misinformed converts. What I really think is funny is that most, if not all, rituals performed by Christians, especially Catholics, are borrowed from the older Pagan religions. Nowadays, I really find most people still believing in the doctrines that the Church set up in the Dark Ages. Isn't it easier to control the ignorant than the wise?
