    Unfortunately, I don't think love, even of a parent, works that way. Love is usually conditional; it causes you to expect things from other people. This is true for parents, who (perhaps unconsciously) want certain things from their children in return for their love and care (like loyalty, love, respect, etc.) Being straight isn't something that my mother wants from me, but I know a few kids who have been estranged from their families after they've come out and many who don't have a loving relationship with their parents anymore. One interesting point, however, is that if homosexuality has genetic origins, parents might be more understanding of it, because they wouldn't be wondering if they 'made' their children gay.
