My 6 year old bi-racial (black/white) daughter was asked by a 'black' child what she was; black or white. Her reply was: Can't you see I'm Brown! She was baffled by the 'stupid' question. My question is why is it the black kids who always bring up the issue of race? None of the white, mexican, asian or bi-racial friends my daughter has ever brought this up. I have a feeling it is taught in the home by the parents. If you don't want racism why perpetuate it?
