Steve-J27828ParticipantRecently, the mayor of a nearby town was bemoaning the behaviors of some of the people living in a few neigborhoods of her town. She complained about how some residents of these neighborhoods persist in parking their old cars in their yards and leaving broken down vehicles on the streets, not cutting their grass, etc. She also mentioned old sofas on residents' front porches. I understand the mayors concern but my question is two-pronged: Why do most people considered to be upper class look down on such behaviors as being 'low class' and why don't some of the people living in such neighborhoods recognize or care about such things? I know some people don't care what others think about them but don't they care about keeping their neighborhoods looking nice?User Detail :
