Ever since 9/11 the Internet has introduced me to a nice bouquet of American racial slurs against Arabs. Sand ni&&er and rag head, and also I believe desert rats. I am not offended by these slurs because they don't make any sense it's like someone telling you that all Americans are like anteater milk (it doesn't hurt because it has no meaning to you). For example I never got the impression that Europeans saw Arabs as black (so why do Americans?), I also wonder if you know that most Arabs neither live in the desert nor wear a head cover? Anyway my question is: with such ignorance about us in America how do you form these stereotypes? Do you use Hollywood images? Do you somehow confuse African Americans and Arabs? Or what?
