actually it is not a deep south thing. i was born and raised in new orleans. and yes it is about 80-85% black here. the gold teeth thing basically was started in the early early 90’s. and it was not only local rappers. its local black people period. i have many friends who have slugs in their mouths. which is another way of sayin they got gold teeth. all the blacks from mississippi, texas, alabama, florida, georgia. . are merely copycats. and are following the trend that was started in the real south, new orleans. started by the local 504 area black males. and brough to the national scene by master p and no limit records. followed by cash money records.
