Victor S.MemberWell of the millions of school children the chances of kids killing kids and teachers isn’t all that high…even nowadays. But even a low probability is too much. I am 18 and I know teachers have made me REAL mad before (often with good reason). I’ve even went so far as to plan various methods of payback (non-violent, usually vandalism). Fortunately, by the time i’ve perfected any of those plans I’ve had time to calm down, which allowed me to reflect on the fact that such acts are a sin (even if not so blatantly a sin as murder), thus not to do them. So for me, my religion would be the reason I don’t murder people, including teachers and students. This also the case for a large number of my peers. I imagine that excluding religion, other factors that might play into it are developing a healthy relationship with people. Schools should be designed to help people get along and not have to prove their social status. As for the violence on tv and video games and rap, I can’t prove the opposite, but for myself I can say much exposure to tv and video game violence never gave me the least bit of a yearning to kill people like that (though martial arts movies make me want to do kung foo stuff for a little while) Moreover, all the things i’ve immediately thought of while in anger, and my clever plans of revenge that i’ve formulated, were never, or very rarely portrayed on tv or video games.
