I think Jews are more bound to the ‘concept’ of Israel than the ‘concept’ of the United States, but the loyalty, as far as military or what-not, would be with the country of origin. Now, onto the ‘ethnic’ portion of your question. I feel I identify more strongly with a Jewish identity than with any national or generally European identity. I think this is because the Jewish experience is different from that of the general population.
