Whenever I am around white women, it seems like all they ever talk about is their weight. Why is this an issue? What’s the fear of being ‘fat’ about?

This issue must be looked at in a historical context. For many thousands of years the ideal female body was one that exhibited the characteristics of pregnancy. A woman was considered healthy if she had enought body fat to easlily support a pregnancy, and so callled ‘feminine characteristics’ evovled (like wide hips, a comparitively large breast etc.). In much more recent times (as early as the 1700’s – 1800’s) the ideal female body was much larger than the ‘ideal’ female body of today. In the the 1950’s women like Marilyn Monroe exemplified the female ideal, with their ‘full’ figures and ’rounder’ shapes. Today, the idea of the perfect white woman as being underweight and ‘athletic’ in appearance is etirely artificial. The proliferation of fashion magazines in the eighties and nineties has extenuated the problem. It is of interest to note that, nowadays, the editors et. al of the fashion magazines tend to be women and gay men. It takes little imagination to see that a woman and/or gay man would prefer the skinnier, more ‘boyish’ look of today’s fashion model.

This is one of the most important issues white women have. being white and fat i have been ostacized by my own culture since i was a child. It seems to me that the women feel pressured by the men to have slim figures, however as these same men get older they fond larger women more sexy. in my experience white men find larger women more intimidating than their slender counterparts. if a woman is constantly insecure about her weight then there is more ammunition to attack her with. also a larger, happier woman(though not always) can be harder to please sexually in a white mans eyes as there is so much of her.the white men feels small so would rather ridicule the fat woman than put oin the extra more rewarding effort. i have found no other culture to be obbsessed by the weight of their women as are white people.

In black communities, and maybe to a lesser degree – in Hispanic communities – men like women with some meat on ’em. The women are not as obsessive about their weight as white womwn are.
