Why do we devalue human life? Why in a country of such wealth and diversity do we devalue people over materials? Why do we allow people who do the some of the toughest of occupations to receive a low wage in return for their sacrifice? Why do we prefer a cheaper product over a living wage for those who bring it to market? Why don’t we value the people behind the services in this country?
