R96: What is the origin of the Mexican slang word

    And I thought I was the only person pondering this question. I am guessing it is derived from an abreviation (probably not S.A.) ‘Ese’ is ‘S’ in Spanish, so maybe it is short for a word beginning with ‘S’, like ‘Sureno’ (Southerner). Or how about this … ESE is the standard abreviation for East South East (see dictionary.com.) So maybe it is a geographical reference, as in East Los Angeles.
