I hate to ask this question, but ever since I moved to Richmond ( a city with a large black population) 7 years ago I have wondered about this. My impression of the African- American plight is that there is great inequity in their economic status when compared with whites. I am a college-educated white with a fairly decent job, and there is no way I could afford the cars many of my A-A counterparts drive. And lots of the luxury car drivers are so young– not old enough to be a college graduate. My question is– where are they getting all of this money if they are so poor? I feel awful asking about this, but I am just wondering if we are more financially equal than the media lead us to believe. Thanks.
