Thats not stupid, he probably just heard of a church with a dome to go see in a guidebook, and asked you for some friendly advice. How was he supposed to know it is so big? I live in DC and I can’t even count the number of times tourists ask me if the lincoln memorial is the capital, etc. Tourists dont necessarily know exactly what all your famous landmarks look like.
