I can’t let this stand: white people did not invent stereotyping. We didn’t invent greed, we didn’t invent slavery, we didn’t invent classism, or homophobia or rainy days or whatever else happens to be p***ing you off today. The negative character traits and policies mentioned above, and many more, were well in practice below the equator for thousands of years while whites, as my black Muslim friends like to remind me, were still shivering in caves picking lice out each others’ hair for food. I know white liberals and black demagogues alike think it’s perfectly legitimate that young African Americans grow up viewing world history as something that started when an African sold another African to a European, but I don’t. It’s mind-rotting ignorance.
