I have a feeling what the 13 year old was trying to express was about the struggle you have with adopted kids if they have memories or ideas of the sense of family is about. I have had experience with foster kids as friends and have heard their say about their foster parents and their biological parents. Many have a resentment towards their parents and fight and rebel against their foster parents because they aren’t their real parents. If I was infertile then I’d adopt but I’d rather have my own also.
