Just to clear one aspect up, the European love affair with the car has always been great. Getting Europeans out of their cars like Americans will be impossbile and will never happen. Despite the excellent public transport where i live, cars are still a symbol of freemdom. As an Englishman, we share similar views with our European neighbours in that we all love our cars. Go to any car show in Britain and you will see this. The grand prix and motor shows are always packed and i have meet loads of people who say thay are not passionate but curious about the cars they will be seeing in future. The United Kingdom and to a lesser extent Europe is the centre of the world for car design and engineeing.
