God did not write the Torah, the Bible, the Koran, or any other religious tome. Men wrote all these things. The men responsible for these writings were not a bunch of goofballs like you and I who have to work like dogs all day long to pay their taxes, buy their food, pay the rent and then stop at the Texaco to get more gas so we can start all over again the next day. The men who wrote the Bible were the ‘power elite’ of their time. THOU SHALT NOT KILL is a noble idea. You might even call it a ‘Godly’ idea. The power elite down through the centuries have manipulated all of God’s Commandments to fit their own needs. This particular commandment should be ammended to read: THOU SHALT NOT KILL UNTIL ORDERED TO DO SO.
