think of a deaf person who learned ASL first then learning standard english as a person from say china learning english. it’s learning a new language. depending on the age of the person or how well they pick up new things it might not be easy for s/he to learn english… it’s hard enough learning a new language after a certain point when you can hear. it must be extremely difficult to be deaf and do the same thing because you wouldn’t hear the proper sounds of the language(s). and i think most people write how they talk so if you’re sentence structure when you speak is in the order of say verb, object, subject you’ll write like that instead of subject, object, verb.
