Nate, you’re opinion and the biblical point-of-view you speak of would be right if it were not for one fact: sexual preference is genetic. Genetic means ‘made that way’ (in short), and only God had a hand in the making of each human, to say otherwise is blasphemy. If God makes someone a specific way, how can that be wrong? To say otherwise is to infer God’s fallibility, which is blasphemy. Satan did not have hand in the making, design, or origin of humanity; only God, that is the key. If a person is Gay, Straight, Bisexual, or whatever, they are that way by God’s design. Not all that is said in the Bible is the word of God. Some of it is the word of Man superimposed as the word of God. Careful consideration is the only way to determine the truth. After all, if you take everything literally, then eating shrimp will condemn you to hell, and that’s just plan silly. Additionally, recent evidence points that the word ‘abomination’ used in Leviticus was translated incorrectly and should have been ‘ritually unclean’–the penalties for such behavior would have been lighter but they too were mistranslated–ever noticce that most penalties were punishable by death? Something is definitely wrong there as well. If you’re gay, bi, straight, then be yourself, that’s the key. Being a ‘good person’ does not preclude homosexuality. None of the priests who molested all those kids were gay….dwell on that.
