Treating others ‘with love and respect, regardless of their fortunes or misfortunes, cultural differences and beliefs’ is exactly what Jesus would do. Again without being overbearing about it, I refer you to the parable of the good samaratin. Read it. Think about it deeply. Jesus teaches us in that parable to do exactly what you imply would make this a wonderful world. In many ways the New Testament is a philosophical tract. Even if you are not a Christian, it offers a good philosophy of life.
