Sure. People become friends. It happens when people work together, or what have you. But when two single people of the opposite sex go into what they refer to as a ‘best friend’ relationship and deny any attraction, however, from experience and what is obvious, I typically think they’re kidding themselves. It’s either self destructive or it leads to something else (the latter of which isn’t a bad thing). Should men and women be friends? Sure. I would encourage it. It seems unavoidable to me. But if you’re married, I say back off when someone wants to use the term ‘best friends’ with you. That position belongs with your spouse, anyway.
