Some people are not motivated by money and they know that what they do during their lifetime does not matter, but in order to stay alive and live the expierience for as long as possible, they must ask for some money to live on. And yes many of them are alcoholics but it would make it a lot easier to be homeless and have nothing to do if you were just drunk a lot.
