… you ask why many people shy away from asking jehova’s witnesses about their religion. in my experience, there is no worse thing to do than ask a jehova’s witness. their missionary impetus just overcomes any attempt at a conversation. they never just explain their beliefs – they declare them the ultimate truth and then try to convert you to it. i actually wonder why jehova’s witnesses do not see the self-damage they incur to their religion’s image by such behaviour. why is there no awareness of other’s right to a different opinion within the witness world view? (this is not to single out jws for criticism – most fundamentalists of any denomination have the same attitude, i find.)
