Sometimes the truth can hurt worse than bullets. The average middle age guy doesn’t want someone to tell him that he’s experiencing the beginning stages of male-pattern baldness, or that his 16 year old daughter has been spotted around town getting into the cars of various scumbags. I remember when I fell for this girl whom I thought I was going to marry, and was devastated when I inadvertantly discovered via a 3rd party the extent of her promiscuity, drug use, and various other self destructive behaviors, as well as the truth about how she truly regarded me. It’s good that I found out as soon as I did (because any longer and the end result would have been far worse), but believe me, it hurt worse than slow-acting poison.
