Just out of interest, how mwny Nobel prizes do you have, Maerlyn? Not white guys, not Jewish guys, you personally? You come across like ‘Dan the illogical scientist’ from Dillbert’ I’m smarter than you because scientists have discovered many great things.’ Dillbert’s reply, ‘Those were other scientists, not you!’ Racial ‘pride’ is always a bit odd. I’m a white Englishman, like Shakespeare and Newton, and I take some happiness in the knowledge that I’m from a rich and well-developed culture, but I can’t very well knock other people and ask, ‘Did you write Hamlet? Did you derive the Law of Gravity? Hah! Thought not!’ Those were other white Englishmen, not me! For myself I have no problem with black people boosting fellow blacks, those who face negative stereotyping can benefit from some positive role models and self-esteem. I agree that some black people are over sensitive and think any white person who asks an honest question is being defensive and is ‘threatened’ by successful blacks, but I’ve known people from many backgrounds who are like that. You can’t say ‘Jewish’ in front of some Jews without their hackles rising.
