Most people who are crossed-eye have one eye blind or with low vision. So you don’t see double anyway. Take my exemple if you want. I have basically no vision in my left eye, I can only see a little bit toward my nose. My other eye is fine. I know that when I’m tired, my left eye tends to drift away, it suppress any double vision I could have. Crossed-eyes (strabismus) also happens a lot when you have amblyopia (low vision) is the eye.
