Acutally, I think for many Christians, the key Scripture is that about the tower of babel, Genesis 11:1-8. All people were together and had one language. But they decided to glorify themselves, so God scattered the people. I take the following from http://www.christiananswers.net/q-aig/race-definition.html ‘Modern genetics show how, following such a break-up of a population, variations in skin color, for example, can develop in only a few generations. There is good evidence that the various people groups we have today have not been separated for huge periods of time.’ Evolution implies greater differences between these different groups. Evolution and survival of the fittest has, in my opinion, contributed much to racism and racial oppression. In contrast, the biblical God made all human persons with equal dignity and rights, and he hates oppression and injustice. He also ‘made of one blood all nations of men’ (Acts 17:26).
