I’m a white male myself, and I’m in a happy relationship with a black girl for over more then four years now. The reactions I had on my girlfriend varied a lot. Among my own friends and family (mostly all of them are white) there was no such thing as a negative reaction what so ever. Among her family there also seems no negativity about her being with a white male. On the other hand, when I’m walking on the street with her, or in any public place I tend to get some negative response. Mostly (and this is nog a judgement, just an observation) from young black males. Most reactions are like: ‘What’s a white boy doing with a black girl?’, which I tend to see as them being jealous, but some respond: ‘Why is that black girl going with a white boy?’. I don’t know why they do that? Do they see it as betrail?
