First off… 16 yr olds I think shouldnt put a sexual label on themselves until they actually have an experience. You are too young to know exactly what you want. When your peers say that they are gay or lesbian to fit in… they are identifying with being discriminated against, or being teased… not the act of having sex with someone of the same gender. secondly, most girls your age (and my age, come to think of it)say they are bisexual bc guys like it. They might kiss another girl so that ‘makes them bisexual’. That is the only reason it is ok for girl to be bisexual and not a guy.
