Perhaps our attempts at achieving individuality stem from our need to find a place in society. Take, for example, any fictional book or TV series. You will see that each character has his or her own role, own piece of the social puzzle. Different personalities, by complementing each other, make up a healthy society. As a part of our maturing process, we see the need to fit into this society, and we try to do so by fabricating individualty. Another reason for this may be the need to belong to a particular group, which itself is a part of society. Wearing certain brands is like a label that displays your group.
