I certainly don’t mean to minimize your family’s suffering, but here goes: Maybe Germany should pay reparations to Poland after they receive reparations for the devastation their country endured during World War 1? Where does the repartion money come from? The government, right? Where does the government’s money come from? The people. I spent 6 months in Munich a few years ago and the people there are none too proud of that part of their past. Should they be punished? how Polish would you have to be to get money? The idea of reparations to me is ludicrous, since the subjugation and killing of people is the story of all of us. But at this time in History people in America seem to think that declaring their victimhood is some kind of activism and if they don’t declare it loudly they are somehow taking the issue lying down.
