My intent was not to promote bigotry and prejudice but to shed light on a subject that has more to do with human behavior – as opposed to race. As has been observed by others posting to this forum, my observations are not without merit. Due to diet, body chemistry, and hygiene human beings have a wide variety of scents, no different from appearances. If each distinct race has an appearance which distinguishes one from the other, why is it ridiculous to assume that body scent isn’t attributable to ethnicity. Some ethnic groups bathe more or less infrequently than others, the products we use to groom ourselves differ, as well as the foods we eat. As a black woman from NY I’m sure you’ve noticed the difference in how a native born African (un_Americanized) and an African-American smell. I have yet to have the experience of traveling abroad, but one of the things that people who have been abroad mention is the differences in how people smell. In a corporate/ office environment – no matter how many different types of people who have encountered-they are probably Americanized. They have adopted American/ Western values when it comes to diet and personal grooming.
