It’s not a zero sum game. You don’t have to be either a liberal Democrat or a conservative hawk instead. I, too, will defend the United States to the death, but 9/11 hasn’t changed my core political beliefs. Being a liberal Democrat doesn’t make me any less willing to lay down my life for my country.
