You make me so angry!
1. You assume that anybody who does not wish to fight or does not have the kind of idiotic patriotism that makes them wish to ‘serve their country’ is a coward and ‘unmanly.’ Why should we, ordinary people, fight for a cause that we do not believe in or have no strong feelings about? Some people have either religious or ethical reasons why they do not want to take part in killing other people.
2. You seem to feel that you are somehow special and better than other people for ‘risking your life.’ You are no better than anyone else just because you have a job that may endanger your life.
3. You also seem to assume that it is only men who can fight. I do not need a man to fight for me, and I resent the way you talk about it being manly.
4. Why do you think it is manly and powerful to kill other people? Because that’s what they are – other people. Not animals. Not monsters from a computer game. Just other people.
PS: You don’t seem very confident in how well you and your colleagues are doing your jobs if you are convinced that terrorists are about to come and bomb you.
