While I realize there is a lot of racism in the metal scene, it did not come into the scene from the skinheads or punk rockers. That racism goes all the way to the Disco Sucks campaign of the late 1970s, at least. Most skinheads are not at all racist. The skinheads started in Jamaica and the Jamaican neighborhoods of London all the way back in the 1960s. Some, like SHARP(SkinHeads Against Racial Prejudice) are very miltantly anti-racist, even regularly beating up those skinheads who are racist. And only one of the members of Rage Against the Machine are white. The other three are two Latinos and a black. So the skinheads you saw at that show were almost certainly anti-racist ones.
