I have a lot of friends who fall into the ‘upper middle class female’ group, and who have complained to me about this. Not that latino/poor guys are hitting on them, but the way in which they hit on them. It tends to be in a way that is ‘in your face’ and considered very rude in the upper middle class. I’ve seen it happen quite a bit. Your approach would probably be a lot more successful if you hit on them the way that they are used to, not a way that makes them feel uncomfortable.
