Perhaps African-Americans display African art in their homes becaue they think Anglo art is ugly. Monet is hideous trash to me. American ancestry? Perhaps we should hang old chains, whips, and pictures of white masters beating and raping African women on our walls. Maybe we should all be given complimentary posters of slave auctions to hang above our beds as an everyday reminder that someone wanted us badly enough to pay for us and keep us in bondage? What part of this American ancestry should we celebrate?
