I have a friend who works with deceased individuals quite frequently in a funeral home, and the fact is, blacks change color faster than whites: to a grayish color. Also, embalming fluid has dyes in it to bring color back into the skin for presentation during funerals. In this part of the country, white people usually wait at least a week before burying their dead, for the purpose of making funeral arrangements just right, submission of obituaries, proper grieving, etc. There are not a lot of people here who have their funeral arrangements specified before death.
